Catherina Cramer
Catherina Cramer's way to feature film leads from an apprenticeship as a window dresser, working in the theater to her studies at the art academies in Münster and then in Düsseldorf. There she met her professors Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Keren Cytter, who - like Catherina - work at the intersection of art and film. Even though narrative formats have been part of her multimedia practice as an artist from the very beginning, she developed and realized her first fictional short feature film INSICKURE together with ania maria wanda in 2023/24, which was funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung. Catherina lives and works in Berlin. Her artistic and cinematic works are regularly shown in renowned institutions, including the V-Art Center (Shanghai); Stroboskop Artspace (New York); Museum Folkwang (Essen); Dortmunder U (Dortmund) and the Julia Stoschek Collection (Düsseldorf).
