Writer and director Sarah Carlot Jaber grew up in the Middle East and today works in Brussels. With a diploma in movie direction from the IAD and a specialized master’s degree in gender studies, her interest lies in themes at the intersection of these two disciplines. Her third short film, 'She’s the Protagonist', a “meta” comedy questioning representation in the movies, has been presented at around 130 international festivals and won numerous awards. Sarah is currently presenting her fourth short, 'Olga’s Eyes', while developing her first fiction feature, 'Tell al Zaatar, a hill of thyme'. EN FRANÇAIS : Autrice et réalisatrice, Sarah Carlot Jaber a grandi au Moyen-Orient et travaille aujourd’hui à Bruxelles. Diplômée de l’IAD en réalisation et titulaire d’un master de spécialisation en études de genre, elle s’intéresse aux thématiques à la rencontre de ces deux disciplines. Son troisième court-métrage 'La Protagoniste', une comédie « méta » qui interroge les représentations au cinéma, a fait plus de 130 festivals internationaux et a gagné de nombreux prix. Sarah présente actuellement son quatrième court-métrage 'Les yeux d’Olga' tout en développant son premier long-métrage de fiction, 'Tell al Zaatar, la colline du thym'.
