Alex Krasimirov, a 24-year-old filmmaker, was born in Vidin, Bulgaria, on January 9th, 2000. He discovered his passion for filmmaking at a young age while growing up in Paris, France. Currently, he is studying film theory at the Sorbonne University and preparing for entrance exams at the National Superior School of Cinema - La CinéFabrique in Lyon, France. In 2019, Alex made his debut film "Subitya" in Paris, France. Originally planned as a 30-minute short film, it ended up being 45 minutes long due to improvised long sequences. Despite its unique length, the film struggled to find a place at film festivals. In 2021, Alex returned to Bulgaria and wrote/directed the short film "After Midnight," which received multiple awards at small international film festivals. From 2021 to 2024, Alex has been working on his first feature film, "Black Dog." In 2023, the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria financed a short film based on the feature, which was recently in post-production. The idea behind this short film is to serve as a preview to attract financing for the complete version. Alex Krasimirov has a unique vision, which is why he is also interested in cinematography. Although he is primarily involved in the creative aspects of filmmaking, he finds the technical side equally fascinating. Cinematography combines both elements, making it a future pursuit for him. He is currently applying to La CinéFabrique as a director of photography. Additionally Alex's directing style includes the portrayal of situations in a very realistic and raw manner as appropriate for the script he is interpreting. His style also includes the use of sequence shots, long shots and close ups in such a way that assist in telling the story at hand.
