Srija Barua Nalawade

Connu(e) pour The Mushrooms

Srija Barua Nalawade is a visual artist and storyteller. She founded Cinemon Pictures in 2018 as a production house and content studio, and in 2024 co-founded Lasaki Media Works with her partner and husband, Abhijeet Nalawade. She began her career as an Assistant Director on the National Award–winning documentary A Drop of Sunshine and worked with veteran filmmaker Aparna Sen. Her international experience includes serving as Associate Producer on acclaimed non-fiction series such as World’s Toughest Truckers (Discovery Channel) and The Real Marigold Hotel (BBC2). Over the years, she has built a strong reputation as a creative producer and director in advertising. Her work as a director spans diverse formats—most notably the LGBTQAI National Anthem, Stand with Pride, which won awards and received critical acclaim. She also directed Chai Mumbai, a guerrilla-style show capturing the city’s tea culture, and recently directed and created the Lazeez Music Video for Sony Music, a breakout success in the K-pop space that connected with millions of fans. The project also pioneered the emergence of I-pop (Indian Pop) as a distinctive cultural movement, positioning it as a compelling alternative to K-pop on the global stage. As a director and creative director, she continues to collaborate with leading brands and agencies, including ICICI Bank, Amazon Prime, ITC, Spotify, Sony Music, Ogilvy, and the IPG group. Known for her vision and passion for impactful storytelling, Srija has established herself as a highly respected voice in the field of visual arts.
