Ian’s short films have won directing awards internationally. His directing credits include "Temple Crimes" (2023) (which won 17 Film Festival awards in 2024), the science documentary "Biofilm" (2023); "Project Reve" (2022), The Perimeter" (2017); "Interference" (2016); "Wee Jimmy" (2001) (half hour drama for SBS - won director commendation at San Francisco International Film Festival), "The Raptor Detail" (2000). His debut feature film "Crushed" (writer/director/producer) screened at Cinema Nova in 2008. His graduating student film "Cut" played at Cork Film Festival back in 1999 and won Gold at the Australian Cinematographers Society Awards. Ian is currently writing a screenplay funded by Film Victoria and has also been funded to write films for Screen Australia. Having currently signed a contract to write/direct two new feature films in Australia and Asia, Ian has had extensive training as a director including Film Victoria/AFC assisted traineeships on "Neighbours" (he went on to direct the series) "Blue Heelers", (directed episodes), "Horace and Tina" (directed scenes). He has written three novels and works as an associate professor in one of Singapore's most prestigious universities, featuring subjects such as filmmaking, television directing, transmedia and public speaking.
