Knock, Knock, Knock

Synopsis : Inside a car heading somewhere. Johan is on the phone with someone. Three men are heavily drunk: Johan, the boss, and Jinsu. Johan, with an excited expression, suggests to the boss that they go to a place where women can entertain them, and Jinsu supports Johan’s idea. The boss, Johan, and Jinsu, now in high spirits, arrive in front of a karaoke bar and go inside. Soon after, Johan comes out of the karaoke bar looking as if he has seen something unbearable, tormented. He struggles to overcome his anguish and re-enters the karaoke bar. The boss sings passionately with Hostess 1. Jinsu engages in light physical contact with Hostess 2. Johan sits down with a strained expression, his face now hardened compared to before. The cheerful drinking continues until Hostess 1, drunk, spills alcohol on the boss. People are flustered. Hostess 1, supported by another hostess, leaves. Johan asks Jinsu to order more drinks, and Jinsu and Hostess 2 step outside. Left alone with the boss, Johan desperately pleads for money, explaining that he won a housing subscription but cannot move in because he lacks the balance payment. The drunken boss doesn’t fully grasp Johan’s words, and Johan helps him toward the restroom. In the hallway, Johan encounters Hostess 1. She flees back into the karaoke room, and Johan chases after her. Inside the empty karaoke room, Johan confronts Hostess 1, telling her to leave, but she refuses. Johan tries to force her out, leading to a scuffle. Johan shouts at her as she resists, pounding the table and crying that she just wants to knock on her son’s door. Johan realizes that Hostess 1 is his mother. The mother, working as a hostess, faces her son who has come as a guest. As people return to the karaoke room, the mother runs out in tears. Johan steps outside, recalling painful memories of looking at the apartment he was supposed to move into with his mother. Tormented, he goes back inside searching for her. He enters a room where no singing can be heard. Johan sees his mother and the boss embracing. His mother meets Johan’s eyes and begins to explain. Soon, Johan and his mother are walking on a bridge. She chases after him, apologizing and trying to explain, but Johan curses and condemns her. Behind the quarreling mother and son, the towering apartment looms in the background.
